Ethics statement of the Center

The center operates according to the psychoanalytic ethics outlined by Lacan in Seminar 7. The subject is to take responsibility for their experience rather than organize their experience on the basis of complaints lodged against the Other. The Center supports its analysts and does not accept so-called ethics complaints from members against them. Just like this is a non-voting organization, it does not accept complaints from its members, thus drastically reducing the possibility that a center is destroyed by its members.
In the case of an ethical complaint, the board will refer its members back to analysis, (in some cases, if not all, including the analyst involved). If the accusations involve sex during analysis, the member will be encouraged to appeal to the courts for justice. If the analyst is found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, then the analyst will be expelled from the center. Socrates and Freud were clear that analytical work can only occur in sexual abstinence.
The Center prohibits the analyst and analysand from having a sexual relationship for two years after the end of the analysis. A relationship cannot be planned in advance to begin after two years.
